Employment Benefits for Locally Hired Teachers
HOUSING
PENSION
- The singles housing supplement is determined using an index of new rental contracts in the month of June for a 1.5 bedroom apartments at South Horizon complex.
- Housing supplements are paid in advance and are paid for a 12-month period.
- Please note the dependent must have been declared and agreed to by the school upon at the signing of the initial employment contract.
SICK LEAVE
- If you are required or elect to participate in the provident fund, the school will match your actual employee contribution up to $1,000.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE
- 10 days sick leave per annum.
OTHER LEAVE WITH PAY
- Bereavement Leave (a death in the immediate family-parent, sibling, child, or spouse) of 5 days.
LANGUAGE SUPPORT
- 2 days per annum upon approval of Head of School.
INSURANCE
- Free Mandarin language lessons.
TUITION REIMBURSEMENT
- International medical, hospitalization & travel insurance (including basic dental) for self and one dependent per teaching contract.
- Worker's compensation insurance per Hong Kong law.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Tuition free HKA enrollment for 1 dependent child per individual contract.
- All staff have access to a pool of professional learning funds which they may apply to use. School-initiated Professional Development is paid for directly by the school.
