Family Debenture - The current debenture price is HK$400,000. Each family is required to purchase one debenture upon admission to HK Academy. A debenture exempts one student from
paying the annual capital levy. Families may purchase additional debentures to cover siblings. Debentures can be re-sold when the family leaves the school. See debenture application for terms and conditions. Families without the means to purchase a debenture may apply for deferred payment terms or an exemption.
Middle / High School Technology Tuition Fee – Paid annually. Due 31 May 2011. $6,100 Other - HKA Community Organization Fee. All students. Due 31 May 2011. $100
- Local field trips, incidentals and transport. All students. Due 31 May 2011. $500 Tuition Fee - All students. Paid in accordance with the following table:

HKA requires TWO full calendar months’ written notice of withdrawal or TWO full calendar months of tuition payment in lieu of notice.

Notes on Fees:
Important terms of payment - All fees are quoted in HONG KONG DOLLARS. Cheque(s) should be made payable to “Hong Kong Academy” and mailed directly to the school or hand delivered to the school’s accounts office. If payments are settled by telegraphic transfer, the remitter must pay for any charges incurred by both the remitting bank and the beneficiary bank so that fees are received in full. A remittance should then be sent by fax or email to the school’s accounts office for immediate record update. Overdue interest of 2% per month will be charged against outstanding amount of invoice FOURTEEN (14) days from the invoice due date. An administration fee of $200 will be charged for any cheque presented to the school’s bank and not honored.
Withdrawal - The school requires TWO full calendar months’ written notice of withdrawal or TWO full calendar months’ tuition in lieu of such notice.
Application Fee – The application fee is non-refundable upon payment. Paid on application for a place in the school.
Capital Levy – The capital levy is used to pay for capital improvements such as equipment purchase, enhancements to the school environment and facilities. This is an annual fee and non-refundable upon payment. This fee is payable in full amount regardless of date of admission.
Scholarship Fee – The scholarship fees will be used to subsidize tuition for low-income families who meet the criteria to receive the scholarship. This is an annual fee and non-refundable upon payment. This fee is payable in full amount regardless of date of admission.
Transition Fund – This is a one-time and non-refundable fee for all entering students. This fee is payable in full amount regardless of date of admission. The Fund will be used to finance the moving and refurbishing expenses to a new school site. This fee must be paid to secure a place.
Middle School / High School Technology Tuition Fee – This fee is for Middle School / High School students (Grade 6 to Grade 12) only and must be paid by 1 June of each year. The fee is part of the MS/HS Laptop Program. Each Middle School /High School student will have their own Apple laptop computer to take home and use in class. The fee will pay for the insurance, hardware maintenance, back-up solutions and the capital cost for replacing the units when needed. This is an annual fee and non-refundable upon payment. This fee is payable in full amount regardless of date of admission.
Tuition Fee – This fee includes books and learning materials but excludes costs of class trips, student after school activities, uniforms, school bus etc. which will be charged separately. Students in G3 to G11 will be involved in extended overnight field trips which are an integral part of the curriculum. The cost for school year 2010-11 ranged from $3,000 for Grade 3 to $11,000 for Grade 9-11. The tuition fee is payable on or before the due date to secure a place for the academic year. Students may be ineligible to start the school year if all fees are not paid in full by the due date. The school reserves the right to free a space reserved for a student if all fees are not paid in full by the due date. The tuition fee deposit is non-refundable upon payment.
Conditions of payments – Fee payments may be made either by cheque or direct bank transfer. Cheques should be crossed and made payable to “Hong Kong Academy” and mailed directly to the school’s address or hand delivered to our school’s accounts office. Please refer to payment invoices or contact the school’s accounts department for detailed bank transfer instructions.
- School bus – The school bus service is provided independently by Castle Brothers Ltd. The school bus registration form for each school year is available from the school’s office after April/May. The completed form and the bus fees should be sent to Castle Brothers Ltd directly.
